Bold, Responsible Leadership for Milwaukee County

Supervisor Jack Eckblad believes that the core mission of county government is to equitably deliver essential services.

As a third-generation public servant, Jack’s grandparents founded a co-op in Stevens Point, WI, that rebuilt the public bus system after it went bankrupt. His mother served on the Mount Horeb School Board and continues to run her own business. His father is a retired United Church of Christ minister who championed LGBTQ rights in the church.

Jack is committed to preserving the County parks for the next generation, making community transportation safer and more efficient, and ensuring that we continue to put Milwaukee County on a sound fiscal footing without sacrificing services essential to every citizen.

On the County Board, Jack has been a champion for access to affordable housing and renters' rights. He has rallied diverse coalitions to provide legal counsel for tenants, open the first online county-wide affordable housing marketplace in the state of Wisconsin, and provide funding for direct housing assistance that keeps families in their homes and off the streets. All of those efforts passed the Milwaukee County Board unanimously.

Jack’s background includes achieving Progressive victories in challenging battles: convincing West Bend to construct the first public school in 40 years, defending the West Bend public library board against book bans, re-electing a pro-choice Democrat in a Republican district in Queens, NY, and electing the first openly gay member of the Beloit City Council.

Jack was elected in Spring 2024 during his
first campaign for public office. His campaign recruited more than 75 volunteers who knocked on over 18,000 doors, sent almost 1,000 individual letters, and engaged voters directly at dozens of public events.

His priorities as County Supervisor are focused on delivering constituent services, revitalizing the parks of District 4, better aligning Milwaukee County and the City of Milwaukee’s climate cooperation, and ensuring the equitable expansion of access to affordable housing.

He is a resident of Bay View where he and his wife are raising their young son and daughter.
