My Priorities
Bold, Responsible Leadership Delivers for Our Neighbors
Parks and the Environment
Milwaukee’s parks are our heritage and our legacy. With a focus on preserving what makes our county special, I'm dedicated to keeping our parks thriving despite the challenges we face today. Let's tackle the climate crisis by safeguarding, improving, and expanding our green havens. Privatization? Not on my watch. Our parks are here for all of us, regardless of income. I'm also pushing for a greener tomorrow. The Milwaukee County Transit System should embrace electric vehicles to make our transportation cleaner and more efficient. And let's clear the air – it's time to champion a renewable energy future. I'm committed to leading the way toward cleaner air, a healthier future, and a Milwaukee County that stands as a shining example of environmental stewardship. Together, we can create a brighter, greener future for all of Milwaukee.

Housing
Housing is at the core of addressing every structural problem in society, and Milwaukee County is facing a housing crisis that is ranked nationally in its urgency. Rents have risen 30% since 2020, and an occupancy rate of 94% ranks Milwaukee among the tightest housing markets in the United States. There is no single solution, and as County Supervisor I have worked to form diverse partnerships that include County government, City government, nonprofit advocacy groups, businesses and residents to address this problem at every level: securing legal representations for tenants, increasing access to affordable housing, increase transparency on landlord behavior, and provide funding for direct rental assistance to keep families in their homes and off the street.
Housing is an essential human right. What makes Milwaukee’s 4th Supervisory District great is that we are a mix of owners, renters, those who were born in Wisconsin, and those who chose it. The diverse fabric of the 4th District is not possible without affordable housing and the preservation of renters’ rights. Milwaukee needs to double down on providing both.
Public Transportation
Public transportation isn’t about ideology, it’s about ensuring an essential service that keeps us going to work, to the doctor, to school, and safely back home after. I'm committed to restoring and expanding bus routes where they're needed most, ensuring connectivity throughout our city. Bus operator safety is of utmost importance to me as well. And I'm not stopping there – I'm pushing for smart, sustainable upgrades, like a direct switch to electric vehicles. This is about more than transportation; it's about a greener future for Milwaukee. Let's make our county accessible, sustainable, and vibrant together.

Law Enforcement and Public Safety
We need radical reform in the county jail to restore public trust in law enforcement. People are continuing to die in the Milwaukee County Jail. No one should be afraid of dying when they get pulled over by a Sheriff’s deputy. As the audit of the Milwaukee County Jail shows, the Sheriff's Department needs to transparently and publicly reform the culture and practices within the jail to embrace care and health over punishment and abuse. As they act on the changes recommended by the audit, the Sheriff should hold public listening sessions to restore public trust and demonstrate that positive change is happening.
As a County Board Supervisor, I am willing to work with the Sheriff's Department and law enforcement to ensure that the department takes action to make these changes. The county’s audit was a good starting point. More broadly, we as a society need to cease the militarization of police and ban the use of tear gas and rubber bullets by law enforcement. Weapons of war do not belong on our streets.
Bold, Responsible Leadership Delivers:
Justice and Constitutional Rights
Milwaukee County must do everything we can to ensure that any and every resident of Milwaukee can access services and engage in their community with a guarantee that their rights and safety - and the rights and safety of their families - will be inviolable.
Our responsibility is clear – whether it's reforming a flawed criminal justice system, expanding right to counsel, increasing access to drivers licenses for migrants, demanding that law enforcement keep their promise not to coordinate with ICE, ensuring access to due process in the Courthouse Complex, bridging disparities in financial services, health, the environment, or education, we are resolute in our commitment to creating a county where equality prevails for all of our neighbors. This includes uniting to confront the five central types of violence that face our neighbors: physical, political, legal, economic, and environmental.
This is our mission, and this is the path we will steadfastly follow.
Bold, Responsible Leadership Delivers:
A Woman’s Right to Choose
The county does not control laws governing reproductive healthcare in Wisconsin, but I believe every elected official bears a profound responsibility to advocate for women’s right to healthcare no matter what their office may be. I knocked on hundreds of doors for then-Judge Janet Protasiewicz’s spring State Supreme Court campaign, speaking with voters about the disastrous consequences of Wisconsin’s 1849 law going back into effect. While there is a good chance that the ban will be overturned by the State Supreme Court, that is not enough. We need a constitutional amendment enshrining women’s right to reproductive health care. Activism and turnout in our district are crucial to winning these state-wide fights, and I am committed to fighting loudly and boldly until a constitutional amendment is passed.
